Cheryl comes from a family of foodies and caterers, growing up in Takaka, she was surrounded with an abundance of food ideas. Learning to cook from a young age, it was a natural progression for her to head along that same path. Cheryl studied for four years and gained a Diploma in Hotel and Catering Management, which included chef training. Using her skills, she travelled to see the world, working in some of the most magical places ever, with her favourite being Venice and Austria. Cheryl spent her time learning many new skills and working towards having a sound knowledge of what it takes to own and operate a business. In 2007, Cheryl and Ian purchased their first cafe in Takaka, where they ran this together for seven years, with a great team alongside them.
In 2015, Cheryl was asked if she would make lunch for a work colleague who requested salads. This inspired some to reaserchinto finding a way to make them look amazing, stay fresh and be very convenient for people to take away and store. She found that the Mason Jar was just the thing- the salad idea was born!
"The salads look amazing in a glass jar and it's so surprising just how much you can fit in. Our focus now is on more healthy and nutritious foods, made with fresh produce that is grown locally and in season" says Cheryl
Having built a mobile kitchen, Cheryl and Ian have some big plans for the future, however for now, they are happy to be offering a range of healthy and nutritious food.
Also on offer is catering for functions, funerals, morning tea shouts and meetings.
